The first day of the Roots and Wings eco-festival culminates beautifully with a free concert by the band Ne Lintuizet. Welcome, even if you haven't been able to attend the other events of the day.

Formed in 2024, the Finnish folk supergroup Ne Lintuizet consists of longtime songwriters Pekko Käppi, Laura Moisio, Kielo Kärkkäinen, and Lauri Myllymäki. The quartet's amazing harmonies and freely flowing musical dialogue already won over audiences on their first tour last fall.
The band's debut album *Uusi huone* was released on May 16, 2025. The album has an intimate and warm vibe, with the spotlight on Lintuizet's nuanced singing. The band draws from the deep well of folk music, from the golden era of folk rock across the ocean to local folk traditions. The tracks reflect on life overshadowed by an uncertain future and looming threats, with the backdrop also hinting at upheavals in the music industry, declining income for cultural creators, and the impoverishment of the art ecosystem. However, Ne Lintuizet doesn’t give in to despair and instead finds strength in other people and friendship, psychedelic dreams, a child’s imagination, and humor.

Ne Lintuizet is a devoted and cheerful gathering, tuning into a new shared frequency: songs about supernatural guests and the everyday connections of friends, as well as dreams, money, the ultimate power of death, and the time of flowers.
