2.10.2024 The Tampere Awards were presented on the 245th anniversary of the city on Tuesday 1.10.2024 at the Tampere Day celebrations in Tampere Hall. The prize was awarded to Sirkku Peltola, an Academician of Arts known as a playwright and director, and Jukka Gustafsson, a city councillor with a long career in municipal politics and as a member of parliament.

24.9.2024 Tampere will celebrate its anniversary with the traditional Tampere Day weekend of events on 27-29 September 2024. The weekend will fill the city with a varied programme of open doors, cultural events and guided tours.

20.9.2024 On Tampere Day, visitors are invited to discover the creative heart of the western city centre with the new Culture District application and guided tours. Along the routes, visitors can explore the area's history, architecture and environment using a digital map application. To celebrate Tampere Day, the Culture District will also offer free guided tours in English on Sunday 29 September. 

4.9.2024 Haihara Art Center offers a lot of free programs for all ages during the Tampere Day weekend from September 27th to 29th.

20.8.2024 Tampere's anniversary will be celebrated during the Tampereen päivä – Tampere Day weekend from 27 to 29 September. Registration for the accompanying programme is now open and companies, associations, and communities can now submit their events as part of the programme.

1.10.2023 On the 244th anniversary of Tampere, Tampere awards were granted to conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali and musician Pauli "Pate" Mustajärvi.  The award recipients symbolise the importance of Tampere culture and music life both in Finland and internationally in a great way. The Tampere awards were presented at Tampere City Hall on 1 October 2023.
