This year marks the 70th anniversary of twin city agreement between Tampere and Kyiv. In this Color Up Peace workshop we create one piece of a larger artwork. Everyone is welcome to contribute to this artwork. The communal art work will be displayed in the Window Walkabout event 24.10.–3.11.2024. Window Walkabout (Ruudun takaa) is the largest ever and free of charge art event in Pirkanmaa, and it fills windows with art of lights and shadows!
More about the workshop and what to expect:
Color Up Peace is a Ukrainian artistic project that explores peace and peace values through collective artmaking. Color Up Peace invites people to submit photos of what peace is to them, which are then transformed into coloring pages for others to color and further develop the original visions of peace. All the outlines are drawn by hand in the digital format by the founder/artist of Color Up Peace – Lisa Glybchenko. In this workshop, we will together color a large outline of a peace photo that represents Finnish-Ukrainian friendship. This outline will later be displayed in the Window Walkabout (Ruudun takaa). Participants will also have a chance to see the photo that the outline is based on: it will be a surprise, but the photo is either from Finland or from Ukraine.
The workshop will take place in the Ratina Shopping Center on the ground floor, on Saturday September 28, at 14:00-16:00. It is an open workshop, and everyone is welcome to join for as long as they want and at any time during the workshop's duration.
This workshop is a unique opportunity to be part of a meaningful artistic journey that is relevant for Finland, Ukraine and our common aspirations for peace!
