Tampere turns 246 – join the celebrations and register your event

During Tampere Day, the city will come alive with open doors, cultural experiences, and exciting offers for everyone. All public events taking place over the weekend are welcome to be part of the festivities.

We encourage organisers to create diverse events and promotions that provide residents with memorable experiences. For example, you can open the doors of your company or association, organise performances or guided tours, or offer the opportunity to try out hobbies. The style is up to you – the most important thing is that you join us in celebrating!

Celebrating democracy on Tampere Day

The year 2025 is a celebration of democracy as local democracy has influenced the everyday lives of Tampere residents for 150 years. The theme of the anniversary year will be visible in the city in many ways, including in the Tampere Day program. Event organisers are encouraged to embrace the theme by planning activities that highlight democratic values – such as playful voting, discussion forums or community art projects.

How to register your event or offer

Plan your event and submit it via the Tampere Event Calendar website by 30 September at 1.00 PM. All approved events and offers will be published in the Tampere Event Calendar and on the Tampere Day website. Selected events can also feature in the Visit Tampere calendar.

Submit your event or offer

1. Sign in The Tampere Event Calendar at tapahtumat.tampere.fi/en-FI / Create a free account
2. Create a profile for the organisation organising the event. Note: If you know that your organisation already has a profile, ask its administrator to add you as an administrator of the same profile.
3. Select ‘Add’ and ‘Create Event’ in the top right hand corner.
4. Submit information about your event in both English and Finnish if possible.
5. Write #TampereenPäivä as the event tag. Note: If you do not make this selection, the event will not be saved under Tampereen päivä – Tampere Day.
6. Publish your event.
